You also ignore other very significant components like how much it costs, the impact on performance and innovation, and how individuals feel (or not) about the matter. If someone wants to opt for zero or diminished privacy - even if that turkey can be stuffed with some technical capability - in exchange for other benefits, they should have the choice.
