Subject: [PERPS] Perp Pattern Recipes and
Directions
Afternoon Again Perps-
Now I'm back to ask for recipes for the flies you sent or are about to
send. I'm trying to get them all in one file in one format. If you already
sent me a printed one and you have saved it, could you please re-send it to me
at mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] with
the words Perp Recipe in the subject line?
PLEASE! Send me your recipes seperate from your address info. I know it's
more hassle, but will let me keep and sort info easier.
If you can, please use the following format, which seems to be more or less
standard in books and magazines:
Name of Fly:
Name of
Tyer:
Tyer List #
Hook:
Thread:
Tag:
Tail:
Butt:
Ribbing:
BodyHackle:
Body:
Wing:
Wingcase:
Thorax:
Throat:
Collar Hackle:
Head:
In other words, the materials more or less in orders as they're presented
to the hook. Of course, not every fly's going to have all the parts I listed
and some may have parts I've left out. In order to save space, I think just
the materials list should do the trick, since everyone in the swap is a tyer,
having a fly in hand should give a pretty good handle on how the fly is tied.
If a fly is particularly complicated or has some unusual techniques involved,
then please feel free to include that information. Otherwise, if someone wants
specific intstructions they can contact the person who tied it.
Hope this meets with everyone's approval. Email me off list if you have any
questions. I do already have recipes from some of you, right now I'm at work
and don't have the tyer's names in front of me. If you already sent them and
don't feel like sending them again, I'll get them on the website as soon as I
can. Unfortunately, I don't have a scanner so I'll have to hand enter them. If
you don't mind resending, then I can just copy & paste. Eventually all the
recipes, maybe even with pix!, will be on the swap website. If you can send
pix along with your recipe that would be even better.
Thanks to all for your patience and help. Merry Christmas to you and
yours.
