Dear Jessica,
the moth on the first two images is tineola bisselliella.
Tineola bisselliella produces a fine cocoon. The coccon has the colour of what was eaten before.

I haven´t seen coarse cocoons made from tineola bisselliella so far.
May be this is from tinea pellionella.

Best regards,

Betreff: [pestlist] Moth and mystery fragment ID
Hello,

This moth (~6mm length) was captured in one of our galleries. I suspect it is a clothes moth but am having a hard time determining if it is webbing or case-making (or something else??).

In a different, but not totally removed, area, this small fragment (6.5mm length) was found on a tapestry. Might it be the case of a case-making clothes moth? Or is this a case of a case-imagining conservator?

Thanks,
Jessica
