Our freezer does the same thing, and we haven't noticed any affect on treatment. Items in the freezer will hold their temperature pretty well during those short spikes - it's mostly the air temp that is affected.
My predecessor hollowed out a paperback dictionary just enough to accommodate a thermometer so we could monitor how stable the temperature of the inside of a book is.
