Here are a couple for you.  The first is American cockroach damage to a book 
spine.  The second is American cockroach damage to the backing of a painting.  
This damage looks like a map of the British Isles!  American cockroaches have 
very strong mandibles and do their dirty work at night.  Having had a career 
setting up Integrated Preventive Pest Management (IPPM) programs for all sorts 
of museums and collections throughout the world, I have lots of photos of 
damage to artworks.  You may use these as long as I am given credit for them.
