Form a cover or box made from metal mesh. Hardware cloth with holes of ¼ inch works reasonably well. That should exclude mice, but it’ll also limit passage of larger insect pests (adult cockroaches, stink bugs, etc. If you’re mainly interested in museum pests, this is a good strategy. But…. you shouldn’t have mice anywhere near your accessions! One might argue that if the mice are captured on the glue traps, then that might be a benefit of sorts. You certainly should pursue other manners of mitigating the mouse problem. -Rich
