Some bait blocks are peanut butter flavored/scented that may be why they are
attracted to them.

Joel,
It is a poison, Tom Cat. This facility has a persistent rodent problem.
Thanks again,
Angela

What bait are you using in the traps.

Hi Dale,
Yes, ~5mm, black, ridged elytra, but I'm not sure what you mean about the head.
To me the head looks like a helmet that fits snuggly at the elytra.
I have learned since the original post that these beetles have been eating the
rodent bait out of traps.
Thanks,
Angela

Angela - Dale here from the O'Keeffe. They appear to be tiny - like 5mm long,
is that correct? All solid, one color? The elytra (outer wings) appear ridged
along the axis of the beetle and the pronoun or plate over the thorax is kind
of angular near the head?

Hello,
These beetles were found in a collections area and I think they may be
furniture beetles but wanted confirmation. The first pic is a dead specimen
and the second not so dead but less cooperative. Any help is appreciated.
