Dear Stephan, thank you for the update on the new definition. When you introduced the ghost silverfish in your course a while back, I was really keen on seeing one myself. Apparently I should be more careful what I’m wishing for 😊 Best regards, Stella Von: [email protected] <[email protected]> Im Auftrag von Stephan Biebl Gesendet: Donnerstag, 4. Also in and arround Munich. But we have now a new morphological redefinition of ghost fishing for Europe ….Ctenolepisma calvum is Ct. phantasma Rediscovery of synanthropic silverfish Ctenolepisma calvum (Ritter, 1910) (Insecta: Zygentoma: Lepismatidae: Ctenolepismatinae) from Kerala, India and assignation of European C. calvum to a new species Sheeba RAPHEL, Rafael MOLERO-BALTANÁS, Andrew MITCHELL & Joyce JOSE ZOOSYSTEMA 47 (21) - PAGES 425-443 Published on 19 September 2025 Gesendet von Outlook für iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef> Best, Stephan Stephan Biebl Ingenieurbüro für Holzschutz Mariabrunnweg 15 83671 Benediktbeuern Germany https://www.holzwurmfluesterer.de/ https://insectactivitydetectionsystem.de/ https://museumsschaedlinge.de/ ________________________________ Von: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> im Auftrag von Oppl, Stella <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Gesendet: Thursday, December 4, 2025 2:24:27 PM An: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Betreff: [PestList] AW: possibly our first ghost silverfish Dear Volker, thank you very much. This is really helpful. Unfortunately my colleague already threw away the trap (I was on sick leave and didn’t have a chance to take a closer look), so taking a macro shot of these individuals won’t be possible anymore. We’ll continue to monitor this room though. I usually don’t wish to have more pests in our rooms than necessary, but I’m kind of looking forward to find another ghost silverfish now, just to take a better picture of it 😊 Best regards, Stella Von: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Im Auftrag von Hingst, Volker Gesendet: Donnerstag, 4. I have only seen one ghost silverfish so far (here near Cologne). Please take a look at the attached information, it might help - and a macro shot with scala. best regards volker Von: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Im Auftrag von Oppl, Stella Gesendet: Donnerstag, 4. Öffnen Sie nur Inhalte, denen Sie vertrauen.*** Dear Pestlist friends and colleagues, My colleague and I possibly found a ghost silverfish in our sticky traps last week. As this would be the first sighting of this kind of silverfish in our building, we wanted to be extra sure and ask the professionals around here for a second opinion. In my opinion, it is a ghost silverfish. Best picture for identification is photo no. 2 (2025_11_Falle12_03). But: Is this really a ghost silverfish (Ctenolepisma calva) or just a normal but dried out and faded silverfish? We are located in southern Germany, Bavaria, where it is said that ghost silverfish sightings are increasing, but we’ve never seen any at our museum so far.
