The "Bill" who said insect pheromone traps will attract insects from outdoors
into a secure collection storage area is off base.  The "reach" of an insect
pheromone trap is limited at best, hence the need to set up an indoor grid of
traps to effectively cover an indoor area.  Insect pheromones are NOT toxic to
humans or animals and do not require EPA registrations.

I’d be interested in information and references concerning the comment below –
does the presence of pheromone traps lead to a potential increase in insect
populations, in a storage area that is fairly well separated from the outside
world?

Thanks!

Pheromone traps should never be used unless you intentionally want to increase
your insect population.

Baited traps have the ability to pull from the outside. Should you touch the
traps pheromone is not good for you.
