Many thanks to everyone who took the time and trouble to demo VMware at
the last meeting and to answer my dumb questions about VMware and Xen.
I thought you might be interested to know that I have now got KDE on
Debian Sarge running on VMware Server on Windows XP on my laptop. It
even runs at the full 1400x1050 native screen resolution. It feels a
little bit sluggish but is quite usable. It certainly beats dual booting.
Installing the VMware tools was necessary before it would run at
1400x1050, which required gcc and the kernel headers. Otherwise,
everything was remarkably straightforward to set up.
