Thanks for the info Tony,

I had a go at connecting last night using xchat and found it very easy to use.

I'm going to be busy until the end of the week but hopefully will be
on over the weekend.

Regards

Stuart

People,

As promised, here are the details of the #linux IRC-channel I suggested:
server name: shire.sorcery.net
channel name: #linux

The most common IRC client for linux is X-Chat, and I would recommend
that you use this. If you are shown a selection of networks, please
select SorceryNet.
Otherwise, use the following:

/server shire.sorcery.net
/join #linux

Please try to use a nickname that I can at least slightly recognize :)
The most common abbrevations in use on IRC:

iirc -> if I recall correctly
imho -> in my humble opinion
rofl -> rolling on (the) floor laughing
rtfm -> read the friendly* manual
utfs -> use the friendly* search
wb -> welcome back

Regards,
Tony V. (Chainsaw on IRC)
