This looked quite good from the first reviews I read, except that it failed on the first hurdle - it couldn't open my files!

For probably good reasons, the Geany devs want to keep dependencies low so it doesn't support Gnome-VFS, which I have now learnt is what I need if I want to directly edit files on SMB shares (or via SFTP etc for that matter).

Unfortunately that pretty much rules it out, Shame, it looked good.
