not quite clear what you meant here - it is all ok if they are using the same OS ?

I was just making the observation that the Windows peer to peer networking is always flaky with permissions and user ID/passwords or Guest access issues. I've seen XP Pro refuse to share with XP Home for example. Can you share files between the machines ?

On the wider question - if a Windows XP host shares its USB printer, can Linux machines print to that without needing a printer driver, or ?? (I've never tried to share a printer to a Linux client).
