You are correct, Compix fuxsion is installed by default.  On the
install, if detects that you have an nVidia or ATI, it should try to set
this up for you.  This isn't always the case.  Double check that you
have the restricted drivers installed / enabled.  You can do this via
the System -> Administration menu (I think this is the one as I am doing
this from memory).  If not, then installed / enable them.  This will
however require a reboot of your computer.  Once done, then you can turn
on the additional desktop effects (I think this is turned on from the
Preferences menu or the Administration menu.
 
What other issues do you have with your computer / system and I can try
and help you with them?

Update was very good and smooth everything works fine.
Only there was no install of Compiz is that correct? And i get a
question about enabling the Nvidia card (I did because i have) otherwise
there good by some problems with then 3D activity's.
