Can I second those comments. I've had a phpBB board running for some
time now and it's a nightmare trying to keep the spammers out. Currently
that's not a problem though since someone appears to have cracked into
the password file at Fasthosts and have brought several sites down,
including this one. At the moment I can't get into the site admin to try
and fix it, because Fasthosts said they were sending out new passwords
by post last week and I'm still waiting. Can't raise them on the phone
either, as their tech support numbers are permanently engaged. My only
other tip, if you must use phpBB, is to stick it on a Linux server and
use MySQL as the database (as opposed to using Windows and SQL). Much
easier to maintain and backup.
