I recently did the same thing, but using DLAN HomePlugs. My download speed immediately jumped from the 1.4Mb I was getting with wireless, to a much more respectable 5/6 Mb over the DLAN network. The only thing I use wireless for now is an eee PC that I use around the house and a Wii console that now gives me iPlayer on my TV.
By the way, thanks for the tips about using GITSO as a remote access utility. It looks amazingly simple. Has anyone actually installed and used this yet, and does it do what it says on the box?
