residential BT line rental is more like £33 per quarter without calls, ie £11.25 per month, but as you say there are savings to be had. PE8 5AW T-mobile looks good there, Three is probably missing. T-mob use fixed price tariffs with a fair use poilcy trather than heany over-use charges. Orange looks OK on their predictor too. One thing you could consider is getting an unlocked data card / dongle off Ebay and using a SIM only deal with it, that way you can get something that will work with Linux and have it on the best network.
