I used to be of that opinion myself, but I just find the arguments for 
method 2 more compelling these days. I think the main one being that 
most other lists have adopted it, and I like consistency. Having a 
"reply" button which does different things in different locations but 
identical situations is confusing! Probably a sign of my age :-)

TB3 should have it alongside the reply button in the message pane (I had 
the following buttons to choose from: "reply", "reply list", "forward", 
"archive", "junk", "delete". The "reply list" button has a dopr-down 
menu offering "reply all" and "reply" alternatives).

It will be, but it's better than inadvertently posting private details 
to a public list.

More importantly, I do see the PLUG list as an introduction to mailing 
lists for a lot of people who would otherwise never use them, and I 
think it better that skills learned here apply elsewhere - at present we 
work differently from even most of the other LUG lists.
