I used to be of that opinion myself, but I just find the arguments for method 2 more compelling these days. I think the main one being that most other lists have adopted it, and I like consistency. Having a "reply" button which does different things in different locations but identical situations is confusing! Probably a sign of my age :-) >> Note that Thunderbird v3 has "reply to list" built in >> >> > where does that live ? The "reply list" button has a dopr-down menu offering "reply all" and "reply" alternatives). Googling for it got me here: http://www.news.software.coop/thunderbird-3-introduces-reply-to-list/851/ .. which might be useful (not sure if MJR is still on this list?) >> There will always be unintended consequences of any change. More importantly, I do see the PLUG list as an introduction to mailing lists for a lot of people who would otherwise never use them, and I think it better that skills learned here apply elsewhere - at present we work differently from even most of the other LUG lists. -- Mark Rogers // More Solutions Ltd (Peterborough Office) // 0844 251 1450 Registered in England (0456 0902) @ 13 Clarke Rd, Milton Keynes, MK1 1LG _______________________________________________ Peterboro mailing list Peterboro@mailman.lug.org.uk https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/peterboro
