That was it, thanks! It also had the "a" (append only) attribute set.
Question is why/how that happened? Seems an odd thing to have happened
without manual intervention.
In response to Tony Vroon: I have now moved everything to a new server (it
was on my to-do list anyway) so finding the cause is more a learning
exercise now.
