Dear Petri-Neters,
This is just to announce PNML Framework in its first (and
experimental) release.
PNML Framework is a prototype implementation of ISO/IEC-15909 part 2,
International Standard on Petri Net Markup Language.
The primary purpose of PNML is to enable interoperability among Petri
net tools. Thanks to this standard transfer format, tools should be
able to exchange Petri nets models, according to the standard
specifications.
This release includes a tutorial about how to use PNML Framework in
order to quickly (and without having to extensively learn the
standard) build translators from PNML to your own representation and
vice-versa
PNML Framework has thus been designed to back the Standard. It will
enable Petri nets tools developers to seamlessly integrate PNML
support into their tools. It provides an extensive and comprehensible
API to:
- create and save PNML models,
- load and fetch PNML models elements.
This work is conducted as a significant contribution from the active
participation of french AFNOR WG 19, in cooperation with the
developers of the ISO standard.

Best regards.
