Configure goes through fine - but elemental fails. If gcc-4.6 is not suitable - either elemental configure [or petsc configure] should have an appropriate check before attempting this build?

[again worked today with one of my attempts] - but most of my retries today failed. wierd.. [it works with +gcc-4.7.3 or +gcc-4.8.0 though] Satish
