Yes - metis/parmetis/ptscotch are optional dependencies for mumps - so you can build mumps without any of them.. [in petsc-3.7] ./configure --download-scalapack --download-mumps PETSC_ARCH=arch-mumps [with mpicc etc in PATH, and system blas/lapack etc..] Satish
