No, the protocol still stands. Its the only known quantity in
your question, its not going to change just for you. You want
the pf guys to answer questions, but you haven't provided any
detail. The problem is in your pf.conf or some other factor in
your lan. In an "even" local area network with pf as a fw,
opening port 53 for tcp and udp traffic works. Period. Any more
detail is going to have to come from you now.
