Ask your Oracle DBA about the nls_date_format value in the init.ora startup on the database. S/he should be able to help you. You may be surprised to here about some other valid formats, like mm/dd/rrrr.

Subject: PFCSIG PFC. Dates from Datawindows
Hello...
A perplexing problem:
I have a datawindow that inserts dates (dd/mm/yyyy or dd/mm/yy) or inserts
dates from a winnt popup calander. Either way the date is entered it is
then saved to an oracle 8.05 database. When I insert a 1999 date , e.g.
12/01/99 or 12/01/1999 the appearance is fine, even after it is saved. But
if I exit the window and come back in, then do a retrieve I get 12/01/2099 a
century later. It is being stored into the Oracle database as the year
2099.
I have tried messing with the windows regional settings on both the client
and the server, this makes no difference at all.
Any suggestions how the pfc update function can be corrected to store the
correct year?
Thanks in advance.
Martin
