I'd suggest the following steps:

1. Create a dummy column in the SQL source of the data window to hold the
floating point number.
2. Also include the whole number column.
3. On the presentation, delete the whole column from the display, and format
the floating point dummy column as needed.
4. In the UpdateProperties, set the floating point number to be
non-updateable (but make sure it's in the tab sequence, so the user can edit
it).
5. Create a user event on the DW called something like "ue_postItemChanged"
that has three arguments (long row, dwobject dwo, string data).
6. In the itemChanged event, if dwo.name is the floating point column, "Post
Event ue_postItemChanged(row, dwo, data)".
7. In ue_postItemChanged, if the dwo.name is the floating point column,
calculate the appropriate whole number and store it in the hidden column.
8. Good luck and have a nice day.

Subject: PFCSIG URGENT! Itemchanged story...

Hi, guys. I hope it is not to late to have an answer from somebodey that can
help.

I have a kind of a problem. You see, I have to make next:

In database I can not have decimal numbers, so I am able to store only whole
numbers ( 1, 2, 3, 4... but not 1.23, 2.31 ). So, the solution was to have ,
for example number 3.234 stored as 3234 in a database or 0.234 as 234. OK,
but that is not the problem! The problem is how to take care of that column
input? And, if someone can help me, please, is there any way for me to get a
reference of a column (type dwItem) in a DW controle if I know columns's
name or ID? Thank YOu very much for Your help...

Best regards
