Hello Neven,
Can I ask you a question. How come that your database doesn't have decimal
point facility, there must be something like numeric type. I don't know
whats your database engine is ?
Now, try this one.
First you have to know how many digit that you gonna need. In this example,
lets say 3 digit for decimal point.
edit your datawindow, go to SQL datasource toolbar.
Select column that you want to use it including column that can't save
decimal point, then go to compute column, set new variable like
your_numeric_column / 1000 as
ln_value. Any other think that you want to put in this area, go ahead.
Go back to layout by clicking SQL datasource toolbar.
remove column that can't have decimal think from your layout.
Arrange your layout, for ln_value properties, set picture format in edit and
format section.
At update properties, set column and option that you want to saved not
include ln_value. Save your datawindow.
On your window that contain this datawindow, please open datawindow script.
Go to pfc_preupdate or your event that might trigger your save / update
event when it come to save your data,
then write this script in your event,
this.setitem( this.getrow(), this.getitemdecimal( this.getrow(),
'ln_value' ) * 1000, your_numeric_column )
this.accepttext()
note: remeber that 3 digit decimal point will set as 1000, 2 digit will be
100, and soon ...
your_numeric_column is your column that can't provide you decimal
type.
the rest is yours, see yaa.
