A thought: Is ".web" already archaic?

Thinking a bit about ".web", I found myself thinking along the lines of
"how quaint". And pondering it further, I realized that I was already
categorizing it in the same way as terms like "Information
Superhighway" and "Cyberspace". Meanwhile, terms like "Internet" and
"Net" seem not to have been much diluted at all over the years.  The
same is probably true for ".com".

Is it only me thinking this way?
