YouTube Red Free Trials: Your credit card required in advance

https://plus.google.com/+LaurenWeinstein/posts/ESc6a1AAwXZ

Since I'm now getting this question explicitly a bunch, I'll answer it
explicitly. No, I'm not accepting the free trial to YouTube Red. If it
were free without requiring a current payment method, I would. And at
the end of the trial, if asked if I wanted to continue, I would make a
determination at that time and add a payment method *at that time* if I
wanted to continue. I'd do so happily. But I object to *free offers*
from anyone that (for example) require a credit card in advance. This
has become a popular model across the Net. I don't care who is doing it,
and I really don't care very much why they're doing it (though it
doesn't take rocket science to figure out likely reasons). I just don't
like it. Your mileage, of course, may vary.
