TIL the utterly bizarre history of television in Israel, including the
government attempting to delay its introduction at all, then
implementing a system to "erase" color from TV signals, then how
devices were sold to "unerase" and restore color irrespective of the
government's attempts to block it. All of this delayed regular color
broadcasts there into the 1980s. Even more bizarre when one considers
the country is a TV broadcasting powerhouse now. -L
