Asked for my reaction to generative AI ...
Asked recently for a short summary of my reactions to currently
publicly available generative AI chatbots and Search, my reply was:
At the best, they're basically useless because you can't trust their
responses to be accurate. At worst, the way they're being pushed into
the public sphere to users who don't understand their limitations
(disclaimers are worthless in this situation), they can be truly
dangerous by providing wildly inaccurate information, sometimes mixed
in with accurate information, which is an utterly toxic
misinformation mix. -L
