What I find odd is that you said your naive program rejected this... FWIW, in an up-to-date windows 10 VM the client side fails with: psql: error: connection to server on socket "@frak/.s.PGSQL.5432" failed: Invalid argument (0x00002726/10022) Is the server running locally and accepting connections on that socket?
