That's exactly the idea : having a common configuration API for
both pgui clients and non-graphical programs.

The idea is being able to manage default values, user
preferences,... in a way that makes it easy to distribute these
settings with the programs (and remove them once the program is
deleted) and helps building a generic configuration panel.

Well, I hope I'll be able to put it on a good diet, but it's still a
work in progress !
