I had the same segfault as with the textedit widget when trying to erase the last remaining char... The following little change correct the segfault pgserver/gcore/paragraph.c in line 591 'if (meta)' become 'if (ch && meta)' ... but just the segfault as it make another bug (or maybe highlight it ...): When you continue to BACKSPACE even when no more chars are in the text, the widget remember the number of backspace you type and doesn't display anymore text until you re-type the same number of chars. I hope this could be of some help for you. I also have the problem to print the '\n' char as ? is displayed instead. I will search about this. I think it's at display time as the right char is saved in the buffer.
