I found this a big improvement:

TestCase >> shouldnt: aBlock raise: anExceptionalEvent
       ^ [ aBlock value ]
               on: anExceptionalEvent
               do: [:e | self fail: 'Block raised ', e className, ':
', e messageText].

TestCase >> fail: aString
       ^self assert: false description: aString.
