That's not good :)
It works ok for me on Win Vista.
It appears that the FT2Plugin is not working for you.
Make sure that you start it by double clicking Pharo.exe
Evaluate,
SmalltalkImage current listLoadedModules
to check that FT2Plugin is there
and
FT2Version current
which answers nil if the plugin doesn't connect with the freetype6.dll
correctly.
