The next speaker in the British Society of Aesthetics Cambridge Lecture Series is Professor Peter Kivy of the University of Rutgers. Professor Kivy is one of the world's most distinguished writers on aesthetics. His talk is entitled 'Joking Morality' and (I think) will be on the connection between art and morality. The talk will take place this Thursday (20th) between 5.00 and 7.00 in the Seminar Room, 1 Newnham Terrace, Darwin College (enter by the main door). There is no charge and all are welcome.
There is a change of date for a later speaker: Kathleen Stock will now speak on the 22nd April (she had been down to speak on the 9th). Derek Matravers Derek Matravers Professor of Philosophy, The Open University. Media Fellow, Arts Faculty. Now out: Introducing Philosophy of Art: Eight Case Studies (Acumen, 2013). -- The Open University is incorporated by Royal Charter (RC 000391), an exempt charity in England & Wales and a charity registered in Scotland (SC 038302).
