CALL FOR REGISTRATION - 2014 CAMBRIDGE GRADUATE CONFERENCE IN ANCIENT PHILOSOPHY Apologies for cross-posting.
“Approaching Ancient Philosophy: The Hows and Whys of Doing Ancient Philosophy” University of Cambridge, Faculty of Classics March 21-22, 2014 Just as the ancient philosophers argued about why and how one should practice philosophy, we too, in studying them, need to reflect on our aims and methods. The 2014 Cambridge Graduate Conference in Ancient Philosophy will explore questions concerning the value and ways of doing ancient philosophy. We welcome (and hope to see) participants from all fields of philosophy. Keynote speakers: Prof. Melissa Lane (Princeton University), ‘Aristotle on the ethics of communicating climate change’ Prof. George Boys-Stones (Durham University), ‘From History of Philosophers to History of Philosophy: Approaches to the Post-Hellenistic Age’ For the full programme, see https://sites.google.com/site/approachingaphil2014/programme There are no conference fees.
