Dear clashing conversationalists,

In next week's session of the Meaning Reading Group, we'll talk about how
contextual standards are set for conversations, and what role injustice and
oppression play in this. In "Contextual Injustice", Jonathan Ichikawa focuses
on, well, "'contextual injustice,' which has to do with the unjust manipulation
of conversational parameters in context-sensitive discourse." Content warning:
our central example will be questions about knowledge regarding sexual assault
allegations, but we'll also talk about politically significant terms like
gender terms. If you want to learn about "some of the deep connections between
language, epistemology, and social justice", join us next week!

Please join us on Wednesday, September 16th, from 4.00 to 5.30pm UK time, for
the discussion.
