Dear all,

Some of you may recall the successful first instalment of The Dialectic seminar
series, now almost a year ago. Unfortunately, due to various external
circumstances, a second instalment has yet to take place. This is why, in the
lead-up to the new academic year, I am hereby putting out a general Call for
Discussants for new (online) instalments of The Dialectic.

So, if you have an intellectually evocative thesis about a subject matter
falling under the heading of history and/or philosophy of science (broadly
construed) that you would like to discuss with a sceptical yet sympathetic
opponent in front of an interested audience, then please reach out to me with
your suggestions!

If interested, could you please let me know:
(i) The thesis you would like to put up for discussion or, alternatively, the
general subject matter you would like to discuss.
(ii) Your availability in either Michaelmas or Lent terms.
(iii) Ideas for an appropriate 'opponent' to discuss your thesis with.

In general, discussion topics that are of interest to a general HPS audience
will be preferred over more niche discussion topics. Moreover, while I am in
the first instance looking for interested members of staff (from either HPS or
other University departments, such as the Faculty of Philosophy), I also
welcome expressions of interest from PhD students.

Kind regards,
Bobby Vos
