..and 2.5 solves all your interactivity problems. I've been using it on my desktops for sime time now--AWESOME (though not trivial to install :)
Agreed, my celeron running 2.5.64-bk is incredibly smooth and responsive compared to my p4-1800 which is running a 2.4.20-ish + low latency hacks.
Just doing the "dbench + lament + dragging an xterm around the desktop" test on the 2.5 system can make a grown man cry tears of joy -
