What's the size of your resulting bzImage? Are you compiling with a
supported compiler (i.e. gcc 2.5.9{5,6} or gcc 3.2.2)? Are you trying to
use ACPI/APIC?

I'm having trouble on my laptop with 2.5.65-mm4 and ACPI support, so I'm
using APM instead. Also, 2.5.65 is living major changes to VM subsystem,
O(1) scheduler, IDE and PCMCIA/CardBus, along with ext2/ext3 codepath
reduction, the Big Kernel Lock and the new block elevators (Anticipatory
Scheduler and CFQ) you'll find in the -mm series, so there are still
pending issues. Also, asking on the linux-kernel mailing list is a good
idea and will probably throw some light on this.

So, don't give up... Keep on trying. If it doesn't work with vanilla
2.5, try the latest BitKeeper cset or derivative patches from Alan Cox,
Dave Jones, Con Kolivas, et all.
