>From what I understand, it goes like this: - The product will not see "end-of-life" for "n" years (I think n=5)
- Updates will be available via RHN for "n" years - However, your access to RHN is dependent on your subscription, which is yearly. So, if you are a sysadmin worried about products being EOL'd too quickly, you are well protected with the Enterprise products for "n" years. However, you will have to pay for that protection with an annual subscription. Hmmm, this does sound like "M$ Software Assurance(TM)" to me. I am sure someone from Red Hat will quickly jump in here to point out the difference while the tar is still melting and the feathers are still being plucked.... Just kidding! ;-) Because if that bothers you, there is always the "great unwashed masses edition", just a free download away.... The Enterprise edition is simply the sideact that ensures that the RH engineers get paid, fed and watered/beered while they continue to knock out the good stuff some of us (me included) suck down for free ;-) Atul -- ------------------------------------------- Atul Chitnis | [EMAIL PROTECTED] Exocore Consulting | http://www.exocore.com Bangalore, India | +91 (80) 344-0397 ------------------------------------------- -- Phoebe-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/phoebe-list
