Regarding my recent reply. These instructions are what I used for Phoebe as well. I did lose XRANDR though.

When restarting X, my computer's screen went blank, and stayed that way. Luckily, I could still boot into single user mode, so not all was lost. So I did some checking in Google, newsgroups, and this mailing list and found the answer. I noticed this post ( http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=4018994 ) from benoitDV, and since I had pretty much the same AIW card (mine has 32MB instead), I decided to give it a try. I downloaded and installed ati.2 binaries 4.2.0-16 (experimental 16) and guess what? TV works! And even better, 3d acceleration still works to!
