I've had mixed responses from emails I hoped would be helpful as well.  You
know, very few items in the world are rare enough that simply doing a quick
search on eBay itself wouldn't tell you what you needed to know about
setting a minimum bid.  Forgive my cynicism, but generally speaking, people
are just really stupid most of the time.  The smart ones join email lists.
