It's interesting that I recently had Peter rebuild an Edison C and Columbia 
Eagle and George rebuild a Columbia D-2. Indeed, they are the best. All the 
reproducers sound great.

And that is why I say test first.   Cracked/crazed paint should probably be
left alone.   But really, should we revel in dirt?
