I saw those remarks, Loran, and I wondered what the basis was for them. I have been on both lists for awhile now, and this list is easily the more civil of the two. I have never had anyone say anything rude to me in here, or try to intimidate me with rhetoric. I cannot say the same of the other list. I did not respond to the remarks on the other list, because I figured the people who are on both lists would give the remarks the credence they deserved. I didn't report it to you, because I have never believed that "friends" who run and tell individuals bad things said about them by others are true friends, especially when the remarks have no known basis, and can only create ill will and hurt feelings. I don't know what list you are talking about (maybe somebody could clue me in by private email) but the SINGLE attribute about this list other than content, that I've notcied, is the civility and good will. I know of certain other radio/phono groups where you have to put on an asbestos suit before entering. Unbelieveable!!! Bruce ps.(well, P.J. did call somebody a nutjob in jest....oooo didn't THAT hurt) ;-))) From pjfraser Sun Oct 19 17:21:29 2003 From: pjfraser ([email protected]) Date: Sun Dec 24 13:10:23 2006 Subject: [Phono-L] In Defense of this Forum In-Reply-To: <[email protected]> Message-ID: <[email protected]> and if any of you have ever met the esteemed Mr. Lynch, you will be able to know for yourself exactly how apt the "nutjob" moniker may be... that's neither here nor there, though. he's a good pal. this list was born from revolution. the "administration" of "phonolist" was becoming more and more oppressive, and when someone finally pointed it out and was publicly pilloried in return, a number of us just got the heck out and landed here. those of us who are members of both lists can easily compare. the other list has more members, but those restrictions are still applied quite rigidly so this one is far more fun - and with lots less "chaff" traffic, too. of course, with a hobby like this it pays to have as many connections as possible - so if you can stand it, go join up to the other one as well. i mostly monitor it in case anything interesting pops up (seldom) and for the amusement value of the bizarre way in which it is administered. I post only on rare occasions. because you asked, here's the message that was posted there, containing the humorous references to this list. enjoy! > To: [email protected] > From: (deleted) > Date: Fri, 17 Oct 2003 09:28:45 -0400 (EDT) > Subject: Re: [phonolist] Shawn's Missive > > I'm very curious as to which group all this happened on.
