I didn't respond to this, because I...um...don't know what it is. I know
Pooley made record cabinets, but I have never heard of a "VTLA." It sounds like
an
adjustment one would make when setting up a modern, High-End turntable.
Congratualtions Jerry, on your find, whatever it is.

Jerry,
I must admit.... I don't know what this is either. I pulled out all of my
books and can't find a picture. Congrats anyway! Do you have a picture that
you can post so that the uninformed of us in the audience know how lucky you
are?
Thanks
Tom

Jerry's find is the very FIRST Victrola style, whose cabinet was manufactured
by Pooley in Philadelphia. This model and its successors until 1908 were
marked "VTLA" - short for "Victrola." If you have a copy of the "Talking
Machine
Compendium," you'll find pictures of one on page 162.

Congratulations, Jerry!

Thank you George. I see it now. A beautiful machine!

Congratulations!
It pays to get out every week and continuing to look for those rare finds..

A nice addition to your collection.
