Hi, all, I am trying to get familiar with the various Victor portables so that I can choose the "best" one for my projected use. I have a 1929 Pierce-Arrow which I frequently take to car shows where we also appear in period clothes. I would like to add a Victor portable to the entourage that will sound good and look luxurious (in keeping with the car). Can you share your opinions of Orthophonic machines like a 2-55 versus the earlier VV-50? It looks to me like the VV-50 is easier to deal with and is easier of the records, but I'd like to hear from the experts.
Thanks, Bill Morris
