The show was on the cable channel "Tech TV".  I saw it, and it looked 
to me like he broke it on purpose, trying to be funny by saying it was  
a "one of a kind" cylinder.  But even if he didn't break it on purpose, 
he had to be joking about it being "one of a kind".
