Can you measure the distance from the threaded crank hole in the motor to a point outside the machine that would clear the widest cabinet part by say, 1.5 inches and then drop around 3 inches or so (less if that would cause your hand to hit the table top). That should give you a close approximation of the crank dimensions I think. Then you just have to find the crank. It should be a .25 inch diameter, female thread crank that is circular in cross section (no flat bar). It probably looks a lot like the crank of a Victor type 6. In fact it may be the same crank as the later VI. The earlier ones used a slotted crank.

I'm looking for a crank for my Victrola XII. Not only don't I have the crank, but I've never actually seen one, so if anyone has one that they don't want to sell but would be willing to send me a photo of it (preferably with dimensions), I would appreciate it. I had thought, once upon a time, that the crank from my tabletop XI would work, but the throw is way too long. Oh, and if anyone has a spare foot lying around, I could use that, too (although I've already made a repro). And a keyhole escutcheon (this is for the older-style XII). In fact, if you have any parts at all, let me know -- I can always use spares. Thanks! _______________________________________________ Phono-L mailing list [email protected] Phono-L Archive http://www.oldcrank.org/pipermail/phono-l/
